MAGNA COMPANIES EARN 10% OF FORD’S 2005 WORLD EXCELLENCE AWARDS

TROY, Mich., May 11, 2006 – Magna International Inc., the most diversified automotive supplier in the world, today announced six of its operating divisions have won Ford Motor Company World Excellence Awards for exemplary performance in 2005. A total of 60 World Excellence Awards were presented to Ford’s global suppliers in Dearborn, Mich., on May 3.

Ford’s World Excellence Awards recognize suppliers who achieve the highest levels of cost control, quality and delivery, and also embrace the vision to build on Ford’s legacy and drive innovation to new levels.

“Our World Excellence Award-winning suppliers are integral to our ability to address the needs of our customers today and tomorrow,” said Tony (Thomas K.) Brown, senior vice president, Global Purchasing. “We are grateful to Magna and all of our award winners for their ceaseless concentration on delivering value.”

Five Magna companies were recognized with the Silver Award for quality, cost and delivery:
  • Cosma International – Belle Plaine, Iowa (stampings)
  • Cosma International – Montezuma, Iowa (stampings)
  • Cosma International – Piedmont, South Carolina (stampings)

In addition, Cosma’s Sonora Forming Technologies in Hermosillo, Mexico, received the Recognition of Achievement Award, given to suppliers that impact customer satisfaction by providing significant contributions in environmental leadership, consumer-focused technology and consumer-driven 6-Sigma.

“Our relationship with Ford Motor Company is highly valued, and we’re honored to receive the recognition of these World Excellence Awards,” said Don Walker, Co-CEO, Magna International. “This makes three years running that Cosma has been honored, while Intier’s Excelsior Springs plant overcame the effects of a tornado to earn their award and Sonora achieved a successful first launch with Ford. This recognition exemplifies the commitment of our entire company to top-quality customer service worldwide.”
